Hempland Primary School is a co-educational school for children aged from 4 to 11 years of age. It is situated on the east side of York in pleasant semi-rural surroundings. It is a modern attractive building set in its own spacious grounds consisting of playing fields, trees, gardens, adventure play areas and two playgrounds.
The internal facilities are excellent consisting of:
Fourteen spacious, light and airy classrooms plus a library, a teaching & learning centre, two quiet rooms which provide space for one to one or small group support, two large halls, dining hall, medical room, administrative offices and central reception area. In our ICT suite we have facilities for whole class use. The suite contains an interactive whiteboard and a PC for every child to enable whole class teaching. All our PC’s are networked and have access to the Internet. The Teaching and Learning Centre also benefits from a bank of PC’s and an interactive whiteboard.
We also have our very own purpose built teaching kitchen, enjoyed by every child as they learn to cook and look after themselves.
