It is important in the ever-advancing world of technology that children understand how to become responsible and safe digital citizens.
In school, all year groups take part in a range of e-safety topics, including cyber-bullying, building a positive online reputation and knowing how being online can affect our health, both physically and mentally. All our work in computing is underpinned by the idea of making the children learn how to be respectful and safe citizens of the digital world.
At Hempland Primary, our e-safety teaching is informed by the DfE’s document “Education for a Connected World” (see below). We also utilise the Project Evolve materials to ensure our children are aware of the benefits and dangers of all aspects of living in the digital world.
